Quick deadlift tip

The set up is arguably the most important part of any lift.

Get it wrong and you will have a hard time performing the lift correctly, moving as much weight as you could and staying injury free.

So heres a quick tip for the deadlift set up.

Note: I am demonstarting a sumo deadlift here, but the same applies to all variations.

You need to find the wedge position in order to perform a good deadlift.
This relates to your hip position before you start the lift.

Too low and your squatting.

Too high and your placing stress through your lower back and not using your legs.

When its just right you should have a vertical shin position, a neutral spine position, arms directly over the bar, feel tension in your hamstrings and engage your lats.

Then all you have to do is push the floor away with your legs and its the perfect deadlift.
