“My work lifestyle was the huge issue. Staying in hotels with terrible dietary habits and drinking too much on a daily basis. I never really exercised apart from walking at work and at the weekends when I would walk the dog.

My goals were to:

·       Get healthy, get my cholesterol and my blood pressure under control was main aim.

·       Be there for my family and wanting to see my kids grow up and have their own kids.

·       Losing weight was also a huge priority, the weight loss has given me a huge confidence boost.

Shane helped me with these by:

1. Improving my diet for me was huge. This included cutting back on all of the rubbish that I was eating and cutting back on portion sizes.

2. The exercise program that was specifically designed for me was also key. I never used a gym or was inclined to use a gym. I didn’t know how to use any of the equipment other than a bike.

3. Motivational support was/is incredibly important. There were days when I didn’t feel right or I was struggling with exercising and the support from Shane was immense.

Since joining:

·       I’m a lot healthier.

·       I’m a lot fitter.

·       I have extra confidence in myself.

Shane created an easy plan to follow, structured exercise, and structured eating to get results. Never being sore after the routines.

“Before starting the program, I struggled with food, sleep and energy.

As well as my weight, while not massive but my belly made me uncomfortable, and I wasn’t as active as I wanted to be with the kids.

I wanted to get my belly swelling eliminated, get more energy, feel better and healthier about myself in both mind and body.

Shane helped me with this by providing accountability, accountability and more accountability. This was 100% key for me.

Learning about food was brilliant and getting into a consistent training program was magic. I’m loving it!!

As well as losing the belly, another big thing for me is going from lifting 5/6kg to 15/17kg comfortably and on the bar going from 15kg to 55kg comfortably now.

From being barely able to squat to doing it comfortably every day. And flexibility, that has seen a massive improvement too.

Obviously, the whole fitness and eating has been an incredible improvement, but I think the one of the best has been my energy and sleeping.

I sleep like a baby and I’m full of energy, at 52, I never thought I’d feel so good.

“I was overweight, unfit, and felt very sluggish. I have hip arthritis (will require a hip replacement in the next 3-5 years). I was suffering badly with sore muscles around my hip and lower back.

I wanted to lose weight, get fit, learn about proper nutrition, and be in a position to be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle both mentally and physically in the many years ahead.

Shane taught me the value of nutrition, regular exercise, and having a positive attitude. In applying these I could see and feel the benefits within the first four weeks. Then I knew I was 100% on the right track to a far better way of living, both mentally and physically.

Since then I have learned:

1. The value of proper Nutrition – Fully understand now what foods I should be eating (protein being the big one) and how much.

“My number 1 goal was an uneducated “I want to lose weight” but after chatting with Shane that very quickly changed to:

1)Get fit and strong for basketball

2)Build muscle

3)Get lean & tone up.

I had been exercising but not specifically training. My nutrition was bad even though

I thought I was doing the right thing. I found my weight slipping away and couldn’t get a hold of it.

Shane set me out a specific, enjoyable progressive workout plan. He educated me in nutrition, calorie and protein targets. Most importantly, he thought me to have a specific goal and keep things simple.

In the last 3 months I have:

“I wanted to lose weight, increase my self-confidence and empower my 16-year-old son to come along on a fitness journey.

I was struggling with:

– Self-confidence: Just absolutely hated how I looked.

– Motivation: absolutely no motivation on account of my look and energy levels.

– Planning: No idea how to plan a routine that would motivate me.

When Shane and I had our first consultation, he explained that this would be a process but if I was determined enough, I can achieve my goals by hard work, dedication and enjoying life also.

This meant working within a calorie deficit and not denying myself a Saturday night out if I wanted to.

“Before starting I was generally living an unhealthy lifestyle of low to no daily/weekly exercise.

Had noticed overtime I was putting on weight through poor eating habits and too much alcohol

Working from home with no discipline made access to these too easy but moreover I realised I was unhappy in myself and my confidence was at an all-time low.

I didn’t know where to start to get things back on track and had the mentality that I could fix it on my own.

My top goals when starting were to:

– Improve my Confidence and self-esteem – I just wanted to feel better in myself

– Lose weight – I really wanted to shed some pounds because I was thinking about the future and wanted to be a healthier person

– Increase my Knowledge – I didn’t want the program to be a temporary thing – lose weight then finish and put it back on.

The structure of the program made it very easy to follow along and get into a rhythm that just naturally carried over week after week. Training, nutrition, and accountability.

Before the program nutrition seemed complicated but once I got the hang of tracking food in the app I started building my knowledge and good habits around food especially certain foods that were catching me out big time calorie wise before I started.

The training was great, I was doing it from home as I hate the gym, but my sessions were tailored to the equipment I had and I always felt I’d done a hard session afterwards.

The biggest piece was accountability for me. I’m full of good intentions but the regular check ins and access to Shane made any bumps in the road – and I had them – a lot easier to fix.

I feel confident I’ve learned tonnes around nutrition and exercising that will help me stay in better shape after the program.

My confidence is great, I’m just more confident whether it’s work or social settings. Haven’t felt this way in years!

I have lost weight and old clothes are fitting me again which is a nice ego boost. I like to pretend I’m not vain but it feels great seeing visible changes.

By changing my eating habits it’s expanded into my families too. Everyone in the house is eating healthier options most days especially around dinner time which I’m delighted with.

I’m so happy for him and proud of what he has achieved since February.

He had been dealt a cruel blow by life but decided to pick himself up and make a change for himself and his son.

And what a change it has been, over 4 stone lost, stronger, fitter, bursting with energy, more confidence, he’s completely changed his life💪💪

“I needed to lose weight, learn about better nutrition & improve on strength and cardio training.

I’d had a very difficult couple of years, piled on the pounds and needed a steer from an expert and someone to encourage me and

keep me on track.

Firstly, my nutrition lacked the knowledge needed for success -binge eating, no real routine and didn’t really get the macros mix.

My training lacked a structure, I would also overdo it and gas out after a few weeks – not sustainable.

Despite my best efforts to throw every fad in the book at Shane, he set me straight and we began focusing on small, simple manageable changes and built it.

Getting training sessions in each week, not overdoing it, and making sure meals were healthy, packed with protein and not excessive.

Before starting I was gaining weight year on year, my diet was poor and I did little to no exercise. I worked long hours and never had any energy in the evenings. “I wanted to change my appearance, lose weight, gain muscle and be confident in myself. I also wanted my young family to have a healthy active Dad, not restricted by regular injuries or ill health that plagued me for the couple of years before I undertook the programme.

I struggled with balancing work life, family life, social life and my own personal time. I let irrational reasoning get in the way of maintaining a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. A hectic/chaotic lifestyle and working hours meant I ate on the go, with little thought into diet or training.

Shane made me realise the route I was going down was unsustainable, he made me plan out my day and week, making time for meal prepping and training. I also gradually began to understand the dietary requirements surrounding calories and the macro’s. My understanding of foods has been hugely improved. “I wanted to lose weight, improve overall strength going into my fifties and to maintain a healthy lifestyle going forward ie fitter, stronger and more energy but I was struggling to reduce upper body fat and weight generally.

The nutrition advice and information on proteins etc has been key as I was probably eating high calorie foods without much appreciation that there were easy substitutes available.

The fitness sessions have been excellent – they were not set too hard to be unachievable but hard enough to drive improvement every month.

I would recommend Shane’s coaching. I have enjoyed online coaching especially not having to travel to a gym and its flexible in the time I choose to get the work done.  Also, I can see others and their struggles/achievements through their feedback which I probably wouldn’t get in a gym setting.

When you do this, you will lose fat, have more energy, build your confidence, feel better and lots more!

Where I see most guys go wrong is they focus on the negatives, restricting what they can eat, using exercise as some sort of punishment or a way to burn calories and these methods wont last very long.

But when you switch your focus onto the positive and what you can improve, you will get great results and more importantly you will be able to maintain it for a very long time!

My top 3 goals were too:

But I was struggling, I had no proper structure in place, I was eating the wrong food. I’d eat frozen pizzas a lot as I wouldn’t have a plan for dinner and finish work starving and needing something straight away. Also, I was finding it very difficult to exercise consistently.

Shane helped me in a number of ways.
He cared first of all, that was really clear. He’s also really sound and easy to get on with which is key. He has great empathy and knows the craic with kids too.
He helped me set my goals for why I was doing this and then reminded me of them throughout in a supportive way.
He helped me get a structure together week by week. I guess he was my stabilisers that steadied me learning a new skill and now I’ve the stabilisers off and his guidance has helped me live a much better routine.
He built an exercise routine for me, basically a 15 min workout I can do daily that fits into my routine with a 19-month-old, and provided a great app with videos to the exercises that I could watch and rewind etc.
I also really liked how he got me to focus on the small things like a weekly food plan, adding more protein to my plate and just eating better food.
All of this has helped me to:
1. Lose over 30 lbs.
2. Get the entire family eating healthier in a way that suits us and we adapt as we go.
3. My energy levels with my young family are through the roof now
I had a check-up with the doctor there and all of my cholesterol levels and blood pressure etc were all normal and continuing to go in the right direction. That’s what it is all about.
I would 100% recommend Shane’s program. I’m so ingrained now in positive habits that I’m set up for success, the stabilisers are off and I’m peddling freely. I’m forever grateful for his expertise and guidance.

I work long hours as a manager and have a young family, so I have a very busy schedule. I had begun to feel very lethargic in work and everyday life and would reach for a sugar hit to keep me going. I had put on weight and wanted to lose it, specifically belly fat, and increase my strength.

My previous gym experience was of mainly cardio and very little weights and I had never used a personal trainer before so wasn’t sure what to expect. As I only had time for two sessions a week, I didn’t think It would be possible for me to get results.  

I was at ease straight away as it was explained to me how the training would work. Shane built a program to suit my availability and gave me confidence straight away using weights as he puts a huge amount of time into teaching the correct technique. He has introduced new elements to training over time which always keeps it interesting.

I have lost weight (13 kg, 7 inches from waist, 6 inches from hip, 3 inches from chest) with a noticeable change happening quicker than I expected. I have got a great understanding of my food, healthy eating and the correct way to lose weight. I have learned the correct way to lift weights. I wanted to lose body fat, increase my strength and learn how to be more disciplined. I had never had a PT before never mind an online PT so was apprehensive. I wasn’t sure how to achieve my goals and had little knowledge of nutrition. I had never been consistent for a long period with nutrition or gym work so that was my main challenge.

Shane gave me a plan I knew I could follow and complete which gave me a lot of confidence. Any problems I had throughout were sorted imediately with no hassle.

I’m 31, I run my own electrical business and have a young family which doesn’t leave much time. I had become unhappy with my appearance and my lifestyle, as I was neglecting myself by eating poorly and not training since I finished playing gaa. As a result, I had gained weight but then I decided I had to lose my love handles.

We have created a routine where I have been training with Shane two times a week for an hour each and have consistently done so for the past few months. Shane makes the training enjoyable by focusing on the areas I enjoy and consulting with me before a new phase begins.

I have learned how to eat to lose weight in a steady way. I have lost 5kg, over 6 inches from waist & 4 inches from hip, got a lot stronger (can deadlift over 100kg for 8 reps), built muscle especially on my back and am continuing to progress.

I was worried about starting a personal training programme after rupturing my achiles playing sport and while having rehab, however I wanted to get lean and not put on extra weight while I was injured.


While working in conjunction with my physiotherapist, Shane pushed me hard enough that I gained strength and recovered faster but always listened to me and made sure I was never in any discomfort. This was really positive and helpful for my recovery which is ahead of time.

Shane has a really great approach to training in that he keeps things fresh with new targeted exercises and cuts through the confusion regarding the nutrition by keeping it simple, straight forward and effective.


I have got back to regular training after my injury ie doing squats, deadlifts and all other exercises I used to do, lost over 2 inches from my waist, hip and 1 inch from my chest measurements while still gaining muscle. David went from not being abe to do 1 to perfoming 12 strict push ups after just 4 months

I knew something had to change when I was put on medication for type 2 diabetes. I am a taxi driver and work long hours which led to constant tiredness, poor diet and low energy. I started walking at first and lost some weight but after a couple of months my progress stopped, and I found myself walking over 15km a day to try to get some benefit from it. This was boring and time consuming.

Then I came across Shane and decided to give personal training a try. I had never done anything like this before so I was worried I might not be fit enough for the gym or I might get hurt lifting weights. But I can honestly say that has not been the case. We started slowly and built up step by step, even though he puts me through my paces I never leave the gym feeling shattered. We only train 3 times a week for an hour and I find it very easy to work with him.

After only 4 months I am a lot stronger and have loads more energy. I have learned how to manage my food. I have lost over 3 inches from my waist, 3 inches from my hips, 3 inches from my chest and noticeably improved my posture. I feel a lot better in myself too, but, the best thing is my diabetes is in reverse and my bloods are stable.

Like a lot of guys in their forties, I had put on extra weight without realising it was happening. I was confused about how to lose it with all the different information out there. I had tried gyms before but never knew what to do, when I’d ask the trainers there I was told to start on the treadmill or was given some random program to follow for a few weeks and to then go back to them. I was also worried about fitting in and didn’t think I would be able for the training.

What I like about working with Shane is everything we do is tailored to me and achieving my goals. He makes sure I understand why we are doing everything and makes it easy to follow. For example, when we first started, I couldn’t do back squats because I couldn’t get my hands to the bar but thanks to the exercises we have being doing I have no problem performing them now and have a lot more movement in my shoulders.   

When I started, I had two main objectives but have realised there is so much more advantages to training. I have achieved my initial goals, have completely changed the shape of my body by learning how to manage my food (down 10kg, lost 4 inches from both waist and hip measurements, chest down 3 inches, arms 1/2 inch and legs 1 inch are up), I am a lot stronger, I have better balance, can walk better (seriously) and have learned a transferable skill set.

People think I’m 10 years younger, FACT!!

The last few years playing GAA with my club I have been getting injured just when I was starting to make progress, and this was very frustrating. I wanted to get stronger to prevent the injuries and lose some weight as well. I had little confidence in use of weights and usually quit gym work after a few weeks. I hadn’t done personal training before either so I was unsure of how it would go.

Shane made me feel comfortable straight away and started to build things gradually. We focused on correcting my technique and learning to use my glutes first, then on building my overall strength and I gained a lot of confidence in how to use weights.

After only a few weeks of training I was able to run without lower back pain for the first time in ages and really push myself in training without the fear of injury.

I have been training consistently for 5 months now and am a lot stronger, leaner, have more energy and have improved my work life balance too.

I work as an office manager and have a quite stressful job. My initial goals were to lose weight, increase my strength and improve my flexibility.

My biggest reservation before starting was that I would not be able to stick to the commitment of training.I think having someone waiting on you to train (appointment) makes it easier to actually go to the gym, no excuses. No matter how stressful a day I have had, an hour in the gym makes it easier to cope with.

I have improved my fitness, flexibility and am a lot stronger which are all great for my golf game. I have lost 7 kg, 3 inches from chest, 3 inches from waist and gained the knowledge and confidence to be able to go to the gym and train on my own following the plan Shane gives to me.

Ger had been training for a while but had hit a plateau. He was not progressing his strength and his fat loss had stalled. He was focusing on 2 different goals at the same time and not getting results in either.

I advised him to focus on his fat loss first and get as lean as he wanted. After we had achieved that, we could focus on his strength goals without any distraction and maintain his lean physique.

D had progressed 90% of the way to his goal of getting shredded abs but had stalled and wasn’t sure how to get that last 10% of the way.
